Woodlands Fire Department
Station 5

The Woodlands Fire Department Station 5 has been selected as the first Featured Neighbor because of their contributions to the Village of Sterling

Ridge (VOSR).  This 10,000 square-foot facility opened on July 31, 2003 and is the largest station in The Woodlands.  Station 5 is manned by a crew of 3 firefighters at all times and serves the VOSR, Carlton Woods and the western part of the Village of Indian Springs.  This month, the station celebrated its Grand Opening on October 18th.

This particular station graciously offers use of its training room to the Sterling Ridge Village Association for its monthly board meetings and quarterly resident meetings.  In addition, the station hosts tours to individuals as well as groups, who not only can tour the facility but also can see the 1929 antique fire truck that was donated to the Fire Department.  Arriving in boxes, the truck was reconstructed by the firefighters and is now proudly driven in parades.  Also, this station houses the safety trailer, which is a miniature replica of a home that the firefighters use to teach safety concepts to schoolchildren and others.
